Your Giving Matters

The deneen zarada Community Service Fund was created by friends and family in 2019 to honor deneen zarada, who graduated from Boston University in 2002. As a student, deneen helped foster a vibrant community on-campus and inspired those around her to get involved and make a difference in the community. This memorial fund honors deneen’s commitment to and service and ensures that BU students have access to the Community Service Center’s programs, regardless of their financial situation.

Our goal over the next several years is to raise $65,000 to fund scholarships for the CSC’s Alternative Service Breaks (ASB) program. Alternative Service Breaks is a weeklong volunteer opportunity during spring break that brings BU students and community members together through service. Through the program, volunteers build genuine connections between fellow program participants and their host community, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity, diversity, intentional service and a deeper understanding of social justice.

#GivingTuesday at BU

On this year’s global day of giving back, we are presenting giving opportunities that have a direct positive impact on BU students having a high quality educational experience. These giving opportunities come in the form of supporting scholarships, internships funds, and other student support based funds.
