#GivingTuesday at BU

Today we are highlighting some causes from around campus that work to create a more antiracist, diverse, equitable and Inclusive BU.

Sustainability Annual Fund

We support the transformation of Boston University’s planning, operations, and culture toward a sustainable and equitable future. We are guided by the University’s mission, Strategic Plan, and Climate Action Plan. Faculty, staff, students, and alumni all play a crucial role in BU’s sustainability efforts.

Highlights of our work:

  • #BUWind, which went live in December 2020, matches 100% of our electricity needs with renewable resources.
  • We are facilitating the implementation of the University’s first Zero Waste Plan, which sets a goal of diverting 90% or more from landfills and incinerators by 2030.
  • We hire and train an average of one dozen students per semester to perform a wide range of functions from data collection and analysis to engagement and communications. As an integral part of our team, our interns gain valuable leadership experience to help them pursue meaningful careers.

For $50 we can enable two students to participate in a regional sustainability leadership symposium.

For $75 we can provide our Resident Sustainability Leaders with a Zero Waste Event Kit to support programming they lead in the residence halls.

Why are donations necessary?

Together, the BU donor network has a powerful impact. By supporting your cause at BU, you help make the University the best it can be for students, staff, and faculty—and create change on campus and around the world.
